Comparing the life of Paramedical staff of India to that of Western countries, we can improve the access and outcomes in our own country while also bringing to the fore some of our potential. India lags behind developed nations in the public health arena. Even, this year’s Budget, too, has come under criticism for not addressing systemic problems adequately . The picture is far rosier in Western countries(US), where the health care expenditure is the highest in the world. In India the total expenditure on healthcare staff as percentage of GDP is just 4% while in other countries it is 17%.

India’s constitution guarantees free healthcare for all its citizens, hence healthcare in India is primarily administered by States while in some western countries, it’s mandatory to get health insurance and you have to pay a penalty if for some reason you choose not to pay it.
