11 Skin and Hair Care Tips this Summer:

Summer is a time which takes off the natural glow with scorching heat, pollution and humidity. While going outdoors, the hot sun damages your skin and hair. To avoid this, here are 11 tips to take care of your skin and hair this summer.

1. Exfoliate your body:

Basic skin care is to exfoliate your skin. Take a body scrubber and rub it in circular movements on the face and neck and rinse clean. Natural scrubber can be made using two table spoons of gram flour (Besan), one table spoon milk, one table spoon rose water and a pinch of turmeric. Mix it well and use it as scrubber.

2. Prevention from sun:

Before stepping out in the sun apply sunscreen that has UVA and UVB products and comes in SPF 30 and SPF 70. Also use hat and sunglasses.

3. Go for minimal make-up:

During summers less make-up is best. Eye makeup should be avoided in summers.

Drink at least 8 glasses of water. Water prevents dehydration, makes you feel fresh and also helps to wash out toxins from body.

5. Fresh fruits and salads:

Add juicy fruits like watermelon, grapes, and pomegranate and fresh salad cucumber, tomato etc to your diet. It helps to hydrate the body.

6. Aloe Vera:

Aloe Vera is very good for skin care. It contains antioxidants that protect skin from damage. Use fresh aloe vera gel from leaf and apply it on skin or use aloe vera products available in the market.

7. Cucumber & Yogurt face pack:

Take half cucumber and 1 table spoon of yogurt blend it well and apply this mixture on face and neck. Leave it for 15 minutes and rinse it with fresh water. It will help to refresh skin.

8. Tan removal:

Lemon helps in tan removal as it has natural bleaching agent. Apply lemon juice with the help of cotton ball on face and neck and rinse it off with fresh water. Tomatoes are also very useful for tan removal. Rub tomato slice on the affected areas on body, let it dry and then wash it with water.

9. Rose water:

Wash face with rose water. It has natural cooling properties which is good for summer.

Lips are very sensitive. During summers the sun rays can damage lip tissue and leads to scales and spots. To protect lips from sun, use lip balm with SPF.

11. Hair care:

To prevent hair from sun damage use hair cleanser shampoo.
